Rubber

AMI serves diverse segments of the rubber market with two products. Vehicular interior floor mats that are molded and cured into many sizes and shapes for cars and trucks throughout the world contain large amounts of calcined kaolin clay filler from AMI’s Gordon, GA and Aiken, SC processing facilities. AMI’s kaolin (calcined magnesium aluminum silicate) is a specially designed calcined kaolin with unique characteristics critical to this segment of the rubber industry.

Silicone rubber used in various electrical products contains silica mineral products marketed throughout Asia. These are typically used for insulation in wire coating, gasketing or encapsulation processes and are cured solid materials. AMI’s high purity crystalline silica is used because of its unique properties. These characteristics include high clarity, low electrical conductivity, fine particle size, chemical inertness and thermal resistance.
